Texas Roadhouse is bringing its sports-themed restaurant chain, Bubba’s 33, to Northglenn, with a new location set to open on Monday, Dec. 7.

The 6,962-square-foot restaurant at 311 W. 104th Ave. will take over the former site of a Korean barbecue and sushi restaurant next to a Texas Roadhouse at the Northglenn Marketplace.

The restaurant is the latest addition to the 55-acre shopping center, which has more than 650,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and service space. Once known as the largest shopping mall on the north side of town, the center has undergone several changes over the past decade.

Hutensky Capital Partners purchased the property for $48 million in 2017, according to Adams County records.

Since then, redevelopment efforts have focused on revitalizing the shopping center, which recorded 5.4 million visits over the past year, according to Allison Moeding, Northglenn’s economic development director.

Moeding said Bubba’s 33 will generate additional sales tax revenue and expand the area’s mix of chain and locally owned restaurants.

“We work very closely with the shopping center owners, and I am more optimistic about the marketplace now than I have been in the almost four years I’ve worked in Northglenn. We’ve got some really exciting things coming up,” she said.

Northglenn Mayor Meredith Leighty also said the city is excited about the changes at the shopping center.

“The Northglenn Marketplace has come a long way since its days as the Northglenn Mall, and it’s very encouraging to watch as new businesses continue to bring renewed energy to this destination. Great food, a fun atmosphere, and a cool new place to gather with friends and family are exactly what we love to see coming into our community,” Leighty said.

The restaurant plans to hire about 200 employees for full- and part-time positions, including cooks, pizza makers, meat cutters, hosts, servers, bartenders, dishwashers and server assistants.

“Colorado continues to be an exciting market for Bubba’s 33, and we’re thrilled to grow our presence with a new restaurant in Northglenn,” said a Bubba’s 33 representative in an email statement on Monday.

The chain’s Colorado Springs location is the busiest Bubba’s in the country, the company said.

Kent Taylor, founder of Texas Roadhouse, created Bubba’s 33.

The chain is known for serving a variety of American-focused dishes and drinks, such as pizza, wings, burgers and beer. The new restaurant will be the fourth Bubba’s 33 in Colorado. Other locations are in Aurora, Colorado Springs and at the Avenues at Northfield, according to the chain’s website.

Its first location opened in Fayetteville, N.C., in 2013. Bubba’s 33 now has more than 60 locations in 18 states.
