Literary Tavern

Why we love it: Since opening in 2019, Literary Tavern has become an intimate Tremont favorite, pairing a cozy, moody atmosphere with a menu that goes beyond typical tavern fare. Gluten-free diners have plenty to choose from, with multiple dishes marked GF or available with a gluten-free modification, from shareables and fries to entrees. Before becoming Literary Tavern, the historic Tremont space was home to Literary Cafe, a neighborhood arts hangout that opened in 1990 and became known simply as “The Lit.” Try this: Go classic with the steak frites ($36), featuring a 10-ounce Angus Reserve New York strip with truffle oil fries and chimichurri. 1031 Literary Road, Cleveland, 216-862-1916, literarytavern.com
