BEND, Ore. — A westside Bend restaurant says it has been hit by a string of burglaries over the summer and twice in the past week. It has posted video of a potential suspect.
Washington Dining & Cocktails in Northwest Crossing posted surveillance video from Sept. 7 showing someone entering the office. The intruder, who the restaurant manager says appears to be a young man in his teens, is wearing a blue jacket and athletic pants and gloves. He is also wearing a blue mask that covers the lower half of their face. And has an item in his hand, which the manager told Central Oregon Daily News may be a knife or a tool of some kind.
The person is seen moving through the room before realizing there is a camera there and steals it.
The manager said the burglaries have been happening about once per month over the summer, but ramped up recently. The restaurant was hit on Sept. 1 and again on Sept. 7.
“These recent burglaries have left us completely saddened, shocked, and even scared,” Washington Dining & Cocktails posted on Facebook.
The restaurant is located on the bottom floor of a multi-use building. The office door is inside the restaurant and doesn’t open to the outside of the building.
Anyone with information or who recognizes the person is asked to message the restaurant or to contact Bend Police Officer Allen at eallen@bendoregon.gov. The restaurant is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
Washington Dining & Cocktails is asking people not to post names or personal information publicly, but to instead private message the restaurant directly or contact Bend Police.
Dining and Cooking
