KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – There were 20 Tennessee football players at Food City on Saturday afternoon for a meet and greet with fans.

The players signed autographs, took pictures and felt the love from Vol Nation. Senior defensive lineman Daevin Hobbs says that it is no surprise to see the fans show up and show out for them.

“It is the same thing every time,” Hobbs said. “Every time there is an event for Tennessee, the fans are going to be here every single time, showing love. You know at Tennessee, we’ve got the best fanbase in college football.”

It is a always a treat for the players to be able to interact with the fans that support them on and off the field.

“It means the world getting to see the fans come out and show their support to us,” redshirt sophomore linebacker Edwin Spillman said.

“Just seeing everybody come out here to show their love for us, how much they root for us for the season, it just feels great for the season,” junior wide receiver Mike Matthews said.

The support is something redshirt junior tight end Ethan Davis does not take for granted.

“It is a blessing, honestly,” Davis said. “You know I love being in Knoxville, love the state of Tennessee and love the support that Volunteer nation gives us every single week.”

The 2026 season is right around the corner for Tennessee. The Volunteers kick things off on Sep 5 inside Neyland Stadium against Furman.
