A wildly popular Colorado-based organic grocery store will soon just be a short drive away from the Chicago area.
Natural Grocers, a family-operated organic grocery store with more than 150 locations across the U.S., will open its first store in Wisconsin in Lake Geneva this summer, according to a release.
The new store, in a former Joann Fabrics spot at 600 N. Edwards Blvd., will “serve the Lake Geneva community and surrounding southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois areas” and is set to open to the public June 10.
“We’re excited to bring Natural Grocers to Wisconsin for the first time and to become part of the Lake Geneva community,” vice president of marketing at Natural Grocers Raquel Isely said in a release. “Lake Geneva is such a vibrant destination, and we look forward to serving both residents and visitors with the high-quality products and free nutrition education we’re known for.”

The grocer’s forthcoming Lake Geneva store marks the first Natural Grocers location close to Chicago, with other midwest locations in Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri. Known for its wide variety of natural and organic brands and offerings, Natural Grocers has dozens of locations particularly in the west and southwest, including in Colorado, Arizona, Kansas, Montana and New Mexico.
The Lake Geneva store, the release said, will contain a number of environmentally conscious upgrades, including non toxic building materials and no single use bags. It will also carry %100 pasture-based dairy products and free=range eggs, 100% non-GMO pre packaged bulk goods and 100% organic produce.
It will also have a “super-sized” vitamin and supplement department, along with an onsite Nutritional Health Coach and a “Bring Your Own Bag” program, which donates five cents to the Lake Geneva Food Pantry every time a customer brings their own reusable ones.
The grand opening of the store will feature a number of giveaways, freebies and discounts, including mystery gift cards a grand opening sweepstakes and more.
