This week, health inspectors found live insects inside a restaurant, dishwashing detergent stored over tea, and a child left unsupervised in the back of a kitchen.
The health inspectors observed insect activity in the prep area and told the establishment to “consult with pest control services.” An employee was reported delivering food to a customer in the dining area, picking up an item off the dining floor, then return to preparing food without washing their hands. They also reported insecticides improperly stored with cleaning products at the dish machine. Inspectors observed dishwashing detergent stored above exposed bulk containers of tea at a triple sink in the kitchen. Additionally, some food items that required datemarkings were not dated.
Health inspectors reported an unauthorized young child in the back of the kitchen. This child was unsupervised for an extended time. Inspectors observed a lack of managerial control over the kitchen. An employee was seen wearing a bracelet and improper jewelry at the prep area. Foods like fries, sliced tomatoes, and onions were also reported being handled with bare hands.
The person in charge had to discard chicken and beef after health inspectors observed incorrect temperature control. They found that both items were held above 41°F when they must be kept below that temperature. The health inspector observed live insects in the establishment and improper thawing methods for raw beef. Additionally, multiple items cooked the day before the inspection were not properly dated.
