One of the largest food delivery services in the world is expanding its reach to bring you fresh food and bulk orders from Costco Wholesale stores.
Uber Eats, part of Uber Technologies, is now delivering food to Costco members in 47 states, including the seven stores in South Carolina. Locations include Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, Mount Pleasant, Myrtle Beach, Spartanburg and Indian Land.
Customers can order everything from fresh produce and bulk groceries to household goods, whether it’s for major hauls or last-minute needs.
“This multi-state expansion builds on Uber and Costco’s existing global partnership. In addition to the U.S., Costco is also available on Uber Eats in Canada, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, France, and Spain,” the company said in a news release.
The members-only mass merchandiser said the expanded partnership with Uber Technologies gives customers another convenient way to shop their local warehouse.
“Costco is one of the largest and most trusted retailers in the country for good reason, and our nationwide partnership demonstrates the scale and opportunity Uber can bring to retailers looking to meet more of consumers’ everyday shopping needs,” Andrew Macdonald, president and chief operating officer at Uber, said in the release.
Other benefits from the partnership include a 50 percent discount on an Uber One membership for the first year, discounted Uber gift cards and Costco memberships through Uber Eats. Customers who purchase one directly through Uber Eats can get 30 percent off their first order.

Costco is a membership warehouse that currently operates 933 warehouses around the U.S., including 641 in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
A third store in the Charleston area is in the works after the company submitted a site plan for a North Charleston store to the S.C. Department of Environmental Services on June 30. The 74-page filing shows a 181,000-square-foot building and a 32-pump gas station on about 25 acres at 9000 Blue House Road.
