WBF Soulfood Kitchen and Cafe has been operating in the Pierre Bossier Mall food court for more than six months now, having first started as a catering company operating out of the MSKick Kitchen near downtown Shreveport.

At WBF, which stands for Walking By Faith, the food is served cafeteria style and the main entree comes with two sides and your choice of hot water cornbread or regular cornbread. There is also a three or four sides-only plate option.

Main entrees include beef tips, smothered pork chops, fried pork chops, fried chicken wings, baked chicken, fried fish, smothered liver, pig feet, hog maw, smothered oxtails, chili beans, smothered turkey wings, hamburger steak, smothered ribs, fried ribs, turkey necks and meatloaf.

I ate lunch at WBF and ordered baked chicken (leg quarter), yams, greens, and hot water cornbread. I loved the baked chicken and wanted more after I finished it. Hot water cornbread is one of my favorite bread options and the yams were nice and soft and sweet. The greens were cooked really well, but I was surprised that they were sweet also as I like them best on the salty side.

New Middle Eastern restaurant opens in Bossier with roasted meats, salads, fresh ingredients

The owner Mr. J. is a friendly guy and it seemed there were a lot of “regulars” in line with me. I had my lunch at a table in the food court, where there is plenty of seating for customers.

WBF is located at Pierre Bossier Mall, 2950 East Texas St., and is closed on Sunday and Monday.
