Multiple Homeland stores in OKC metro closing; others statewide consolidating or up for sale
Multiple Homeland locations in the Oklahoma City metro will close soon, and others across the state will be consolidated or put up for sale.

The company announced Thursday that several stores statewide will close, be consolidated or are marketed for sale as part of “a series of strategic actions to strengthen the company’s foundation and position the business for long-term success to its employees.”
“These decisions are not easy,” HAC, Inc. CEO Frank Archer said in a news release. “Some of these stores have been part of their communities for years, and we’ve worked hard to keep them open as long as possible. But to move forward, we have to focus on building a stronger foundation. This is about getting back to what we do best and making sure we are here for our communities for the long term.”

Four stores in Oklahoma will close in the next 45 days. The impacted stores include:
2600 W. Robinson St., Norman 1251 E. Alameda St., Norman 1151 N. Bryant Ave., Edmond 902 W. Gore Blvd., Lawton (CashSaver) Oklahoma Stores Consolidating
Three other stores in Oklahoma are consolidating and will have a grand reopening on July 1. The stores include:
United Supermarket consolidating to Homeland in Clinton United Supermarket consolidating to Homeland in Elk City United Supermarket consolidating to United Supermarket in Woodward Oklahoma Stores Put Up for Sale Oklahoma City (Lincoln and 36th) Bartlesville (four locations) Ponca City Stillwater Sand Springs (two locations) Cleveland

The closings mean shoppers may have to travel farther to get groceries. The company told KOCO 5 that they are trying to move impacted employees to other locations.
“This is a pivotal moment for our company,” Archer said in the news release. “We’ve acknowledged where we need to improve, and we’re taking action. We believe these steps will allow us to invest more deeply in the stores and communities that will define our future.”
