Could Maine Be Getting Another Toys R Us?

The former nationwide toy store juggernaut has announced plans for a major expansion across the country.

The expansion, led by Go! Retail Group, includes locations at major shopping centers such as Woodbury Commons in New York and the Mall at Short Hills in New Jersey, with some stores featuring cafes and candy shops.

While the company plans to open the new locations ahead of the holiday season, its announcement did not include a full list of stores or opening dates.

Its Geoffrey the Giraffe mascot and “I don’t wanna grow up” advertising jingle helped make it one of the nation’s most recognizable toy retailers.

And there you have it! Toys R Us is making another push to expand its U.S. presence, though many of the new store locations have yet to be revealed.
