MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South along with community partners are continuing their commitment to youth and community wellness by offering free 7-day meal packs to kids all summer long.

This program is designed for provide nutritious food for children ages 18 and younger while school is out of session.

To download a meal request form, or find a food distribution site, the times and location, visit the YMCA website.

“As schools close for the summer, many families face added challenges accessing consistent meals,” says Brian McLaughlin, President & CEO of the YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South. “Our Summer Food Program helps ensure children continue to receive the nourishment they need throughout the summer months.”

The 7-day meal packs include kid-friendly options that help meet daily dietary needs. The meal distribution is free and available to kids 18 and under with no ID required.

Meals began distribution on May 22 and the program runs until August 1, 2026. Each meal site operates on a weekly basis.

“This summer food program is part of the YMCA’s broader mission to support healthy living and reduce food insecurity in the communities we serve. By partnering with local organizations and volunteers, the Y is making it easier for families to access the support they need—when they need it most,” the YMCA said in a press release.
