The Hope Farm and Little Bird restaurants in Fairhope are celebrating Negroni Week with special cocktails.

The beverages will be made to benefit Slow Food, a nonprofit that promotes food education and policies to ensure access to clean food.

Lane Ezell, the beverage director of The Hope Farm, said the restaurant’s vision aligns with Slow Food.

“Slow Food aligns with our goals as a restaurant,” Ezell said. “Their mission statement is they envision a world in which all people can enjoy food that’s good for them, good for those that grow it and good for the planet. So, that aligns with our vision as a restaurant.”

The Hope Farm is a farm-to-table restaurant and grows much of its own produce on site. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, live music and a close-up look at how food is cultivated on site.

“You can actually go tour the spaces that we grow everything in,” Ezell said. “So, a lot of restaurants will say that they’re farm-to-table but, they’re sourcing from local farms and stuff, and we do that as well but this is really unique because a lot of restaurants don’t have like a space where they’re actually growing produce and things on site, where you can actually go see where your food’s coming from.”

The restaurant’s beverage program has been nominated for a James Beard award and a Tales of the Cocktail Spirited award.

The Hope Farm, located at 915 Nichols Avenue, will offer three cocktails: Fragaria Vesca, Silk Road and Hidden Banana.

“Just come in and try,” Ezell said. “It’s for a good cause. We’ve got some really amazing cocktail specials that are going to blow you away.”

Little Bird, located at 404 Oak Avenue, will offer The Summer Tanager and Mother Jones.

Negroni Week, sponsored by Imbibe and Campari, is taking place September 21-27.
