Tim Hortons celebrates Eldersburg grand opening with coffee giveaway
ELDERSBURG, Md. —
Tim Hortons is celebrating the grand opening of its first Maryland restaurant with a special giveaway.

On Saturday, Sept. 26, the new Tims at 6400 Ridge Road in Eldersburg, Carroll County, will give a digital voucher for a cup of free coffee for a month to the first 500 guests aged 18 and older.
The free coffee promotion is good for one free coffee per day for 31 days. While no purchase is required, eligible guests need to register for a Tims Rewards account to redeem the offer.
“We’re thrilled to now be serving guests in Eldersburg, and we’re so grateful for the warm reception we’ve received from the local community so far,” Tim Hortons U.S. President Katerina Glyptis said in a statement.
The global chain of more than 6,000 restaurants is named after legendary hockey player Tim Horton, who opened his first coffee and donut shop in 1964 in Canada. The restaurants are known for their coffee and other hot and cold beverages, made-to-order breakfast sandwiches, and baked goods.
“Longtime Tims fans already know about our amazing breakfast, beverages and baked goods, and that we strive to serve them with friendly service and great everyday value. Those things together make Tim Hortons a part of millions of guests’ everyday routines around the world, and we’re so happy to now be in Maryland, with this first restaurant in Eldersburg,” Glyptis said.
The Eldersburg restaurant is open from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.
The company is working to open as many as 10 locations in Maryland.
