In this weekly feature, we’re celebrating the best of Colorado Springs’ food and drink scene ー as determined by voters in the 2026 Best of the Springs (thebestofthesprings.com). We’ll throw in our own recommendation, too.
Up this week: Brunch.

Gold: Shuga’s Restaurant
Tables are quick to fill in the small, eclectic space downtown. Perhaps you can snag a seat out back in the yurt that similarly celebrates the vintage and whimsical. And perhaps you’ll never want to leave. Ah yes, if only these sandwiches, soups, salads and cocktails could last forever. 702 S. Cascade Ave.

Silver: Mountain View Cafe
Best of the Springs voters have heaped praise upon this spot in Black Forest. Maybe that’s because they find something new to praise with every visit. It’s easy to think, anyway, with a menu that promises fresh and flavorful and dances between eggs Benedicts, omelets, skillets, chilaquiles, breakfast burritos, tacos and sweet creations from the griddle. 11424 Black Forest Road
Bronze: First Watch
A good chain gives the people what they want. In the case of First Watch, that’s the old reliables of pancakes, waffles and hashes and the healthier trends of avocado toast, frittatas and power bowls. This time of year, people want pumpkin spice. First Watch delivers with doughnuts. 5838 Barnes Road, 7816 N. Academy Blvd.
Our recommendation: Denver Biscuit Co.
Denver Biscuit Co. occupies a corner of South Tejon and also a special place in our hearts. We always long to reunite with the biscuit sandwiches. The one with fried chicken, bacon, cheese and gravy, please. We’ll take the similarly huge, ooey-gooey cinnamon roll, too. And a loaded bloody mary. 528 S. Tejon St.
