Fall is almost here, and you know what that means: It’s booya time!
Here’s our annual listing of events that feature the thick, rich stew, cooked over an open flame.
Every organization’s booya recipe is a little different — so maybe get out there and try a few! These are mostly fundraisers run by volunteers, so you’re eating for a good cause.

Sept. 12: Bethesda Lutheran Church, 2855 E. 47th St., Inver Grove Heights; 11 a.m. until gone.
Sept. 12: St. Paul Park American Legion Post 98, 328 Broadway Ave., St. Paul Park; 11 a.m. until gone.
Sept. 19: Knights of Columbus Council 4374, 6133 N. 15th St., Oakdale; 7 a.m. until noon.
Sept. 20: Newport Fire Department Booya, 2060 First Ave., Newport; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Traditional or Cajun booya, beer garden, pull tabs, raffle and more.
Sept. 26: Montgomery Lodge, Sherwood Lounge, 1418 White Bear Ave., St. Paul. 10 a.m. until noon or gone.
Sept. 27: Booya Crew at Mancini’s, 531 W. Seventh St., St. Paul; 11 a.m. until gone.
Every Thursday in October: St. Paul Brewing, 688 E. Minnehaha Ave., St. Paul; 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.. Fire barrels and Pumpkin Ale available. Dine in or takeout.
Oct. 3: Hudson’s Fifth Annual Golden Rule Booya, Weitkamp Park, 648 O’Neil Road, Hudson, Wis.; noon to 6 p.m. Family activities including a petting zoo, Wiggles and Giggles play area, lawn games and music.
Oct. 3: On the Road Again Fall Festival, Southview Boulevard side streets, South St. Paul. Booya served from 11 a.m. until gone. Festival starts at 9 a.m. Car show, food trucks and live entertainment.
Oct 4: Ham Lake Fire Department, 15544 Central Ave N.E., Ham Lake. Booya served from 10 a.m. until gone. Dine in or takeout. Tours of emergency vehicles, free games and a bouncy house for the kids.
Oct. 11: Luther Memorial Church, 315 N. 15th Ave., South St. Paul; 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. or gone.
Oct. 11: Hugo American Legion Post 620, 5383 N. 140th St., Hugo; noon until gone.
Oct. 11: North St. Paul Fire Department at Casey Lake Park, 2101 E. 17th Ave., North St. Paul; 11 a.m. until gone. Pre-orders available on the city’s website, northstpaul.org.
Oct. 11: Emanuel Lutheran Church, 2075 E. 70th St., Inver Grover Heights; 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Oct. 11: St. Pascal Baylon Men’s Club Booya, 1757 Conway St., St. Paul; 10 a.m. until gone.
Oct. 18: Church of Saint Agnes Fall Festival and Booya, 530 Lafond Ave., St. Paul; 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Games, raffle, country store and other food items available as well. Takeout available.

Oct. 25: Carry-out booya at St. Jerome School, 384 E. Roselawn Ave., Maplewood. 6 a.m. until gone; St. Jerome will provide containers.
