People who sign up to help get a free shirt, food and two tickets for the event, which takes place Oct. 15-18.
INDIANAPOLIS — Looking for a way to check out the World Food Championships in Indianapolis next month but hoping to avoid the price of a ticket? This is for you!
Volunteers for the event – the world’s largest food sport competition — can get free tickets and free food, as well.
Competition planners are currently looking for people to volunteer at the event, set for the Indiana State Fairgrounds Oct. 15-18.

Volunteer assignments include tasks at the fairgrounds beginning Oct. 12 and through the day after the event. You must be at least 16 years old.
Volunteers help with preparing the venue and competition areas, assist with judging and other competition needs, welcome attendees and help them navigate the event and help with the stage, merchandise and other fan experiences.

You’ll get a free t-shirt, and while you’re working, free food at the event plus two tickets good for one of the days you’re not volunteering.
According to an event spokesperson, WFC features hundreds of competitive cooking teams battling across 10 championship categories, with competitors pursuing World Category Championships, more than $400,000 in prize money and a spot at the Final Table.
