The subject of meat supply and affordability has been a hot topic for some time now. Unfortunately, a major recall has added another layer of stress to meat consumers and this one’s no joke!
Major Meat Recall September 2026
According to a release from the Food Safety and Inspection Service, Star Meat Delivery Inc. is recalling around 167,639 pounds of raw meat that includes pork, beef, and goat products.

And why are they being recalled? According to FSIS officials, these products “were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, bearing labels with a false USDA mark of inspection.”
Excuse me, what? False USDA labels? What in the tin-foil hat conspiracy theory is going on here? How does that even happen?
Officials say each meat was produced on different dates before September 22, 2026.
FSIS Surveillance Caught the Problem
Officials didn’t elaborate but they did say that they caught the problem via surveillance cameras – you know, the thing everyone hates right now.
Kidding aside, officials say this is serious because none of this meat has gone through proper inspection and “may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants that put consumer health and safety at risk.”
The meat was shipped nationwide out of a distributor in Georgia and FSIS officials are concerned that some of these meats could be in deep freezers throughout the country and of course, here in Montana.
Thankfully, there have been no reports of serious illness or injury. Still, FSIS is regularly updating their list and you can keep an eye on that HERE.
