Cabot Mayor Ken Kincade was almost apologetic in presenting his state of the city address to the city council Monday evening.
“I hate to bore y’all with this,” Kincade said as he began his remarks. “But it’s exciting, and I can’t wait to read it.”
It’s hard to blame Kincade for being a bit giddy. The year 2025 was a benchmark year and 2026 will bring even more growth for its residents.
Most notably, Kincade called attention to the following restaurants that Cabot citizens can look forward to in 2026:

Beyond restaurants, Kincade was bullish on the continued development of the Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Carolyn Henry was appointed dean of the school in January, and, according to a statement released by Lyon, the first cohort of 120 students is set to arrive in 2027, pending accreditation.
“The successful sale of property to the Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine was a great start and ending to the year,” Kincade said.
Kincade also made sure to touch on a round of salary increases for police and fire personnel, along with five firefighters achieving advanced EMT certification and a renovation of the city’s central fire station.
“Our community can remain safe with a higher salary for incoming police and firemen,” Kincade said. “We’re excited about 2026 and the great things planned for this year, but are extremely pleased with our results from 2025. We made strides in all areas of the city. We had a lot of things happen in our city.”
