Mo’ Bettahs Hawaiian Style Food is bringing its Hawaiian flavors and welcoming island hospitality to the Hoosier State with its first Indiana restaurant, officially opening in Avon on Aug. 31.
Located at 8894 E. U.S. Highway 36 next to Piada Italian Street Food and Bibibop Asian Grill, the restaurant joins a mix of globally-inspired spots, giving Avon and the surrounding communities another mouth-watering fast-casual option. The menu highlights the traditional Hawaiian plate lunches with options such as grilled teriyaki chicken or steak, kalua pig, pulehu chicken, katsu chicken and shrimp tempura, served with steamed rice, veggies or macaroni salad.
Ahead of the official opening Aug. 31, founders Kimo and Kalani Mack will welcome Avon locals with a 2-day friends and Ohana event Aug. 28 and 29. Friday guests will be welcomed with a complimentary mini plate and drink for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, guests can join the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. before enjoying a block-party-style celebration with dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. alongside, a photo booth, caricature artist, glitter temporary tattoos and a chance to win free Mo’Bettahs for a year (must be present to win).
Founded in 2008, Mo’ Bettahs was built on the recipes, traditions and hospitality Kimo and Kalani Mack grew up with in O’ahu. At its heart, the brand’s traditional lunch plate features a variety of fresh, indulgent choices that give guests a taste of Hawaiian flavors and the spirit of island living.
“Some of our favorite memories growing up in Hawaiʻi were centered around sharing a meal with family and friends,” said co-founder Kalani Mack. “As we welcome the Avon community into our ʻOhana, we look forward to sharing the spirit of Aloha and creating a place where everyone feels at home.”
The restaurant will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and closed Sundays. Guests can dine in, order takeout or explore catering options.
