Four by Brother Luck and the Penrose Room at the Broadmoor achieved “recommended” status in the 2026 Michelin Guide.

The selection of Colorado restaurants appearing in the guide was announced Sept. 14. The 2026 selection includes 63 restaurants across 22 cuisine types in Aspen, Aurora, Avon, Beaver Creek, Boulder, Breckenridge, Colorado Springs, Denver, Telluride and Vail.

This is the fourth year Colorado restaurants have participated in the Michelin Guide, and the first year the entire state was eligible to be visited by inspectors. In February 2026, following efforts by the Colorado Tourism Office (CTO), a division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), the Michelin Guide expanded its coverage to the entire state of Colorado. Previously, only select municipalities were visited by the guide’s inspectors.

“This year’s statewide expansion of the Guide provides an opportunity to showcase the exceptional talent of restaurateurs across Colorado, strengthening culinary tourism and giving travelers more reasons to explore communities across the state and experience the flavors that make Colorado unique.”

Timothy Wolfe, Director, Colorado Tourism Office

There are an additional 50 Michelin-recognized restaurants in Aspen, Boulder, Denver and Vail.

The famous one, two and three Michelin Stars identify establishments serving exceptional cuisine that is rich in flavor and “remarkably executed and infused with the personality of a talented chef” according to the guide. The Bib Gourmand is a designation given to select restaurants that offer good quality food for a good value and are often known as personal favorites among the inspectors when dining on their own time.

The Michelin Guide was first published in France at the turn of the 20th century to encourage the development of car mobility as well as tire sales by giving practical advice to motorists. The guide specializes in restaurant, hotel and wine recommendations.

All restaurants in the guide are recommended by Michelin’s anonymous inspectors, who are trained to apply the same time-tested methods used throughout the world. Inspectors pay all their bills in full, and only the quality of the cuisine is evaluated. To fully assess quality, inspectors apply five criteria: product quality, mastery of cooking technique; harmony of flavors, the personality of the chef as reflected in the cuisine, and consistency over time and across the entire menu.
