“A comfortable, elegant tasting room with a knowledgeable staff can elevate the entire wine tasting experience,” the publication said.
USA Today readers recently picked the top 10 wine tasting rooms in the United States in 2026 — and two Central Coast spots made the list.

Epoch Estate Wines in San Luis Obispo County landed at No. 9 on USA Today’s list of the best wine tasting rooms in the nation.
The winery at 7505 York Mountain Road in Templeton grows a variety of grapes across three vineyards, offering syrah, tempranillo, zinfandel and other varietals.
“Contemporary sophistication meets history at this Templeton winery,” USA Today said. “Tastings occur in the restored former York Mountain Winery, which has been finished with timeless touches.”
Epoch Estate Wines’ signature tasting experience highlights “the diversity and personality of our estate vineyards and is ideal for first-time visitors,” the winery said, with a pre-poured seated flight, guided tastings and side-by-side comparison of varietals and vintages.
Guests can try “rare and cellar-aged wines from standout vintages” during the winery’s library wine tasting.

You can book wine tasting experiences online, with prices ranges from $40 to $50 per person. Fees are waived with purchases of $100 to $200.
For folks eager to learn more about the winemaking process, Epoch Estate Wines offers a guided winery tour and an elevating tasting experience with a curated cheese board for $120.
Although wine tastings are available daily by appointment, tours only available on weekends from December through July, outside of harvest season.

Another Central Coast winery, Final Girl Wines in Solvang, finished out USA Today’s list at No. 10.
“Final Girl Wines celebrates a love of wine and an appreciation of the strong final girls in the horror film genre that survive the night through grit, determination and strength,” the Santa Barbara County winery said.
The winery at 485 Alisal Road, Suite 152, sources its grapes from sustainable and organic vineyards in America, producing small-batch red and white wines.
“Guests can sample wine flights, spritz cocktails, and non-alcoholic options in this dark and spooky environment,” USA Today said, highlighting the tasting room’s “haunted fireplace, haunted mirror, Ouija board coffee table and fun staff.”
Final Girl Wines menu options include a flight of five wines for $25. A glass of wine or a spritz starts at $13 and a virgin spritz costs $10.
