Breakfast at Tiffany’s now comes with a California address.
Tiffany & Co. has opened Blue Box Café by Daniel Boulud at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif., bringing the café’s signature breakfast, afternoon tea and all-day dining to California for the first time. Connected to Tiffany & Co.’s new store at the luxury mall, the café builds on the Blue Box Café at The Landmark in New York City while introducing a menu shaped by Southern California ingredients and influences.
“The menu starts by sourcing the ingredients,” said chef Daniel Boulud. “That’s where what we do in New York and what we source in California come together, and then we curate the menu.”
The all-day café leans into seasonal produce and the Mediterranean influences Boulud associates with California dining, with dishes including green gazpacho with avocado and cucumber, heirloom tomato and watermelon with burrata, vegetable quiche, salmon with spices and a truffled croque monsieur. À la carte dishes range from $24 to $62.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s, priced at $72 per person, includes pastries such as a croissant, apricot Danish and madeleine alongside fruit, granola or chia pudding and scrambled egg served in its shell with Ossetra caviar. There’s also Tea at Tiffany’s, priced at $98 per person, with tea sandwiches, scones and pastries paired with a Bellocq tea selection.

Asked which dish best captures the spirit of Blue Box Café in California, Boulud noted the $56 spaghettini au caviar, made with lemon-glazed pasta and Ossetra caviar.
“It’s a bowl of pasta with hints of lemon and chive and caviar. When you add Tiffany, you want to indulge a little bit sometimes,” he said.

“Tiffany is the perfect blend of European and American hospitality, and I think we really try to translate that,” Boulud said. “We want people to really make it their favorite place to go, and also to celebrate.”
In a time when diners can see a restaurant on social media before ever stepping inside, Boulud said luxury increasingly lies in what can’t be experienced through a screen.
“The difference is how you’re welcomed, how you are treated, how you are valued as a customer and how you really wish to come back,” he said. “It comes down to hospitality.”
Located at 3333 Bristol Street, suite 1236, Blue Box Café by Daniel Boulud is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
