Holy Schnitzel is headed to Highland Park. The hand-breaded schnitzel franchise is taking over the Grill House space at 120 Raritan Avenue, and the owner expects the transition to take about four weeks before the kosher chain opens its doors. With the brand’s Boca Raton location also opening next month, Highland Park is set to become the twelfth Holy Schnitzel in the franchise.
A Familiar Kosher Address Gets Its Third Act
Kosher diners in Highland Park have known this storefront for nearly two decades. It was home to Park Place for 16 years before the restaurant closed in 2023. Grill House, the Israeli-American meat spot founded by Moishe Regev and Guy Baracassa, opened in its place in May 2025, serving the community under the Vaad HaRabonim of Raritan Valley. Holy Schnitzel will now be the third kosher restaurant to call 120 Raritan Avenue home, taking over from Grill House after a run of about a year and a half.
What to Expect on the Menu
Founded in 2015 by siblings Sivan and Ofeer Benaltaba, Holy Schnitzel grew from a single Staten Island storefront into the largest franchised kosher restaurant brand in the country. The menu centers on chicken schnitzel that is pounded thin, seasoned, and hand-breaded to order, then served in sandwiches, wraps, platters, and salads. Diners can pick from more than two dozen house-made sauces, from the signature Holy Sauce to smoky garlic aioli and chimichurri.
Expect the brand’s core lineup in Highland Park: the Holy Toasty, the Tony Special, and the Mr. Brooklyn burger, alongside loaded fries, popcorn chicken, chicken fingers, and BBQ Pulled Brisket Tacos.

Highland Park joins a footprint that stretches across New York, New Jersey, and Florida. The Boca Raton restaurant, replacing Boca Grill at the Somerset Shoppes on Glades Road, opens next month as location number eleven. Here is the full list:
