VERONA, Wis. — As construction nears completion on what will become the largest Ian’s Pizza location in Wisconsin, the company is looking to fill dozens of positions before opening day.

The new 8,000-square-foot restaurant, located in Verona’s Mill District development, is expected to open in mid-July after nearly three years of planning.
General manager Jeff Eich said the goal was to create a location that feels connected to the community while building on the success of Ian’s Pizza’s existing Madison-area restaurants.
“How do we build something that the community can really engage in?” Eich said. “They know that we’ve got their back as much as they’ve got our back.”
The Verona location represents a major expansion for the employee-owned company, which already operates restaurants in downtown Madison, on Madison’s east side and at Garver Feed Mill.
“Obviously, you know, we have been quite successful due to our wonderful customers in our downtown locations, in our East Side location, our Garver Feed Mill,” Eich said. “The basic thing for us is we wanted to make sure that we could expand in a way that was meaningful.”
In addition to pizza, the restaurant will make Calliope Ice Cream in-house.
“Pizza is fun and ice cream is fun,” said Eich. “And so it really kind of pairs well together.”
The Verona location will also feature a cocktails-on-tap bar and continue Ian’s employee ownership model, which company leaders say has helped drive its growth.
“Verona has one of the largest ownerships out of any of our restaurants right now,” said Cora Strandm marketing coordinator for Ian’s. “And I think that’s saying something, especially given this new environment and the expansion of what this store is going to mean.”
