Burger Factory in Thornhill and Bready in Concord were charged last week by York Region Public Health inspectors
Restaurants in Concord and Thornhill have been charged with food safety violations following inspections by York Region Public Health last week.
Bready at 15 Connie Cres., unit 27 in Concord was charged June 10 with failing to ensure completion of food handling training by a food handler or supervisor, according to an inspection report.
The report notes non-compliance on multiple items, including failing to protect food from contamination or adulteration; failing to cover food to prevent contamination; failing to provide adequate protection against the breeding of pests; and failing to store/handle ice in a sanitary manner.
Food handler education was carried out on-site, and a ticket was served, with re-inspection to be conducted at a later date.
Burger Factory at building G, 120-10, Disera Dr. in Thornhill was charged June 12 with failing to ensure completion of food handling training by a food handler or supervisor, according to a report.
The report notes non-compliance on multiple items, including failing to provide adequate protection against the breeding of pests; failing to remove garbage/liquid waste when necessary to maintain sanitary conditions; failing to ensure equipment and food contact surfaces are properly maintained, designed, constructed, and installed; and failing to ensure facility surface cleaned/sanitized as necessary.
Food handler education was carried out on-site, and a ticket was served, with re-inspection to be conducted the same day.
