A new restaurant is planned for the University Town Center.
BrickTop’s, which specializes in upscale American dining, is opening its first area location.
The target opening date for the new restaurant, 55 N. Cattleman Road, is in spring 2027, according to the company’s website.
The menu features sushi, seafood, steaks, chicken, appetizers and desserts. There is also a brunch and lunch menu. Wine, cocktails and beer are also available.
The restaurant has 11 locations in six states. BrickTop’s headquarters are in Nashville, Tennessee, which is home to three locations.

Other states with BrickTop’s include Florida, Alabama, Missouri, South Carolina and North Carolina. In Florida, restaurants are located in Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Miramar Beach and Naples.
Planned near the UTC Mall, the Sarasota BrickTop’s is one of three future locations for the restaurant brand.
Co-owner Joe Ledbetter named the restaurant after Ada “Bricktop” Smith, who ran a famous jazz club in Paris and was an African-American singer and dancer, according to Garden & Gun.
The first two BrickTop’s restaurants to open were in Naples and Nashville’s West End Avenue location in 2006.
