A notable food website just named one place in northern Rhode Island as the best Indian restaurant in the state.

Tasting Table made a list of the country’s best Indian food restaurants in each state, and they said that one Lincoln spot was Rhode Island’s best.

“Indian food is as diverse as it is delectable, and so narrowing down the best Indian restaurant in every state is challenging,” Tasting Table said. “Still, we took up the task and curated this list using online customer reviews, local press, and awards received by each restaurant.”

In Rhode Island, those criteria led them to Chennai Tiffins.

Chennai Tiffins — Manville, Rhode Island

Tasting Table chose Chennai Tiffins because of its organic and locally sourced ingredients that make a meal there feel like it was cooked right at home.

“The South Indian food is especially praised for being authentic, so before reverting to your usual North Indian favorites like paneer butter masala and chicken korma, try one of the many dosa varieties alongside sambar and chutney,” Tasting Table said. “Make sure to read up on the different types of dosa before ordering.”

The restaurant also offers bread baskets with different types of North Indian and South Indian bread, like paratha and parotta. These bread baskets are often served with a type of curry, like chicken salna.

“Our goal at Chennai Tiffin is to make the best darn Indian Food you ever had. We know how to do this, too,” the restaurant website said. “With fresh, wholesome ingredients and lots of TLC. From the sauce we grill to the Meat we serve them on – your best meal is our priority.”

Open from Tuesday to Sunday, you can find Chennai Tiffins at 359 Old River Road in Lincoln.
