The National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (“NSAC”) held its summer meeting at the Stonebreaker Barn situated on Markham Hill in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The NSAC describes the organization as:
… an alliance of grassroots organizations that advocates for federal policy reform to advance the sustainability of agriculture, food systems, natural resources, and rural communities.
The organization notes that it rotates its summer meeting locations yearly to:
Reflect the geographical diversity of NSAC’s member organizations
Allow NSAC members to observe how different local food systems operate.
Understand how the policies NSAC advocates for impact farmers on the ground.
Arkansas was noted to be an important agricultural state and home to Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Senator John Boozman.
NSAC in an August 26th blog post provided a meeting summary and noted in part:
