QUEEN CREEK, AZ (AZFamily) — It’s back and bigger than ever!
Schnepf Farms’ Pumpkin & Chili Party returns this October to celebrate decades of fall fun, featuring new rides, new foods and everything families love about the season.
New rides and attractions
The farm added five new rides and attractions this year. They include the Peach Pit, the Schnepf Giant Slide and the Barnyard Stampede, along with two classic amusement rides, the Barnstormers and the Farmers Daughter Coffee Cup Twirl.
The Schnepf Giant Slide is 100 feet long, and riders must be at least 42 inches tall. The Barnyard Stampede is a roller coaster imported from Italy. Another new ride, The Drop, features a 40-foot drop.
Carrie Schnepf said the farm also added more photo locations this year, including large polka-dot pumpkin displays. The farm has 10 pumpkin displays, ranging from three feet to seven feet tall, placed around the pumpkin patch. A Japanese artist created the designs.
New food passport
This year, the event introduced a new food passport, allowing visitors to sample items from five different food and drink locations on the farm.
Visitors look for a pumpkin logo at various food locations, including the succotash stand, the burger grill, the pizza stand and the ice cream stand, to find items included in the passport.
“It’s a great family thing,” Nicole Schnepf said. “They can buy one, and they get five different things. So everyone gets a little bit of whatever they want.”
You can’t forget to get a cup of Schnepf Farms’ famous chili! The dish is made by Olga, who has worked at the farm for 20 years, using a homemade recipe from the Schnepf family.
What’s included with admission
General admission includes all attractions, photo locations and shows, including pig races, a dog show and a BMX show. Additional costs include food, pumpkins from the pumpkin patch and the train ride.
The farm is also introducing a hop-on, hop-off train option this year, allowing guests to board or exit at the bakery, the ride area or the hayride. The farm’s corn maze also returns as part of the festival.
