Colorado is home to some incredible eating. Denver was recently voted one of the best foodie cities in America, and anyone who has lived in or visited the state can attest that the food scene is great. There are many national chains, local chains that only exist in Colorado, and regional chains as well. There are also many local restaurants that you won’t find anywhere else and are one of a kind. Despite all the options, you can never have too many choices when it comes to food. There is one food chain that Colorado is missing out on and needs that residents would enjoy.

Having grown up in Oklahoma, I had Braum’s as a staple in the state. It is one of those places that whenever someone visits and asks to eat something local, you take them to Braum’s first. For those unfamiliar with the food chain, it is a place with hamburgers, fries, shakes, but is also a convenient store where you can get your eggs, milk, ice cream, yogurt, and a little bit more. The dairy for Braum’s is located in Tuttle, Oklahoma, and it is a rule that stores have to be within 300 miles of the dairy so that the product remains fresh. This makes it a little tough when it comes to Colorado getting one, but if they ever changed their rule or look to expand, Colorado would make a lot of sense.

Currently, the food chain has stores located in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Arkansas, and Missouri. The closest location to Northern Colorado is in Salina, Kansas, making it a long drive to enjoy some good ice cream, hamburgers, and shakes. Braum’s has stretched their mileage before, and currently the rule is that stores need to be within 330 miles instead of the original 300, but will they expand it again? It is currently unlikely, as they pride themselves on their trucks being able to deliver every day or every other day. For those who travel through Oklahoma or have been before, would you welcome Braum’s if they ever decided to come into Colorado?

Sadly, Coloradoans will have to miss out for now, but perhaps as things evolve and many companies expand into new states and regions, Braum’s may one day end up in Colorado. For more on the food chain, make sure to click the link in the second paragraph above.
