Tokoa Cheesesteaks has reopened at Commas Food Hall in Downtown Silver Spring following a temporary closure. “We’re really excited to be back!” Tokoa shared with The MoCoShow.

The popular Maryland cheesesteak spot operates inside Commas Food Hall on Level 3 of Ellsworth Place at 8661 Colesville Rd. Tokoa was created by restaurant veterans and longtime friends Chefs Evelyn Cruz and Delmy Hernandez. The concept originally opened in College Park before expanding to Silver Spring as one of the featured vendors at Commas Food Hall.

The menu is centered around cheesesteaks while also offering tacos, quesadillas and mac & cheese bites. Cheesesteak options include a traditional Philly made with shaved ribeye, onions, Cooper cheese, salt and black pepper, along with variations that more closely resemble the regional steak and cheese.

Commas Food Hall opened last year as a roughly 13,000SF food and beverage destination and gathering space. The food hall recently held a grand reopening celebration in September. Tokoa’s current hours are Monday through Thursday from 11am-8pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am-9pm, and Sunday from 11am-6pm.
