BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – You’ll have to take a road trip to get some of those Cheddar Bay Biscuits from Red Lobster.
Red Lobster’s Baton Rouge location at the Mall of Louisiana has closed.

A sign on the door reads the store is currently closed. The famous lobster that serves as a sign on the front of the building has been removed.
A spokesperson with Red Lobster released the following statement:
“We can confirm that the Red Lobster location in Baton Rouge permanently closed on April 15, 2026. As part of our normal course of business, Red Lobster continuously evaluates individual restaurant performance and lease terms and may, from time to time, choose to close select restaurants. We remain committed to making thoughtful decisions that position Red Lobster for long-term success, stability and growth.”
The restaurant posted over the weekend about people officially loving endless shrimp and asking people to drop their favorite flavor in the comments.
That promotion returned to the seafood spot’s menu in April. That promotion has historically been a money loser for the restaurant. Many blamed it for causing Red Lobster’s bankruptcy two years ago.
Red Lobster has closed more than 100 restaurants since 2024 as part of the seafood chain’s ongoing bankruptcy proceedings.
According to reports, the company successfully emerged from bankruptcy in September 2024 after being acquired by RL Investor Holdings LLC, a lender group led by Fortress Investment Group. Under new CEO Damola Adamolekun, the chain secured new funding and has shifted its strategy to focus on menu innovations and modernizing the overall customer experience.
The only Red Lobster location in Louisiana is now in Monroe.
