Wilmington Airport (ILG) is starting construction on a new food, beverage and retail concession area for passengers.
The Delaware River and Bay Authority has approved a construction contract with a West Grove firm totaling $386,000. “Heart Full of Soul”, also known as “Sky+Go”, also secured a five-year lease and operating agreement to start serving hot and cold foods and beverages.
Bar seating will also be available.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Sky+Go and break ground on this new concession space, which represents a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to improve passenger amenities and create economic opportunities at Wilmington Airport,” DRBA Director of Airport Operations Benjamin Clendaniel said. “As passenger traffic continues to grow, providing high-quality, convenient food, beverage, and retail options in our gate area is essential to delivering an exceptional customer experience.”
Sky+Go was selected through a competitive Request for Proposals process based on product offering, service, pricing and quality. As part of the agreement, Sky+Go will pay the DRBA a rental fee and sales commissions through the term. The agreement has two additional renewal options for one year each.
