Minor International has revealed plans to open the first outpost of the Wolseley Members’ Club in New York in the first half of 2027.
The club, which takes inspiration from the Wolseley in London’s Piccadilly, first opened by Jeremy King and Chris Corbin in 2003, will launch within the flagship Wolseley Hotel New York, which is also due to open next year.
Minor International said the British-inspired members’ club aims to offer a “private, all-day environment designed for a new generation of internationally minded members”.
The member’s club will be situated within the 77-bedroom Wolseley Hotel New York. The property is located in a former clubhouse in Manhattan’s Theatre District dedicated to the Lambs, America’s first professional theatrical cub, which operated as a hub for actors, writers and producers for more than a century.
The members’ club will feature several lounges, dining rooms, private salons and terraces for all day dining.
Members will be able to take part in literary salons, hosted dinners and social gatherings, while also making use of the hotel’s wellness facilities and longevity programming.
Dillip Rajakarier, group CEO of Minor International, the parent company of the Wolseley Hotels, said: “We wanted to create an all-day social living room for people whose lives move effortlessly between Uptown and Downtown, New York and London.
“What excites us most is bringing together people who might not otherwise find themselves in the same room: founders and artists, producers and investors, hoteliers and philanthropists, established voices and emerging talent. That spirit of conversation and connection has always been central to The Wolseley in London, and there could be no more fitting place to begin this new chapter than 130 West 44th Street.”
Minor Hotels is due to open its first UK hotel, the 50-bedroom WestDill Mayfair Hotel London, later this year, and last week announced it had signed a management agreement with Dukes London.
The Thai hospitality group wrested control of the former Corbin & King business from Jeremy King in 2022 and has since rebranded it as the Wolseley Hospitality Group.
