A Wisconsin woman recently found herself in a frightening situation, but thanks to the all-woman staff at a local restaurant, this story has a happy ending.
Scary Times for Women
Sadly, there is a situation a lot of women know all too well.

You’re walking somewhere you’ve walked a hundred times before. Maybe you’ve got your dog with you, your headphones in, or you’re just shopping and enjoying some me time. Then something changes.

You feel like someone is watching you. Or worse, you realize someone is following you, and you need help.
That’s what happened to a Wisconsin woman recently, and what happened next is the part of this story I can’t stop thinking about.
Wisconsin Woman in Trouble
According to WMTV, a Wisconsin woman named Carly Major was walking her dog around Monona’s Lake Loop when she noticed a man following her.
Major immediately changed course so the man wouldn’t discover where she lived, but then things began to get even more frightening.
WMTV reported:
the man took off his shirt and ran across four lanes of busy traffic, attempting to cut off her route. Scared, Major ran directly into Buck & Honey’s restaurant to seek refuge.
And refuge is exactly what she got, in a very big way.

While still being followed, Carly Major and her dog walked right into Buck & Honey’s restaurant and told the staff exactly what was happening.
“I need help. I am being followed.”
(Here’s where this story goes from terrifying to incredibly heartwarming.)
That night, Buck & Honey’s was entirely staffed by women who didn’t hesitate to jump in and help Carly Major.
They didn’t question her.
They didn’t tell her she was overreacting or imagining things.
They believed her, and they moved.
When the man walked into the restaurant asking employees about Major and her dog, the staff formed a physical wall of women to block his view and directed him back outside.
They even sent another employee toward the park Major had been walking to warn another woman who was alone that there was a man acting suspiciously in the area.
How awesome is that?!
They Did More Than Call Police
While police were responding, the restaurant employees stayed with Major and made sure she and her dog were safe.
The Monona Police Department eventually located the man nearby, drove him out of the area, and said he showed signs of mental illness.
For Carly Major, the biggest takeaway from this scary situation wasn’t what happened to the man. It was what happened when she asked complete strangers for help.
They helped. Without hesitation.
Major told WMTV:
I felt this intense and just overwhelming sense of safety of like, this person is still out there, but I have people that have my back. I have strangers that don’t know me that care about me. And during like some of the hardest times, knowing that people really do have each other’s backs and care about strangers that they owe nothing to means everything.
As a woman, this story is a powerful reminder to always trust our instincts in an uncomfortable situation. If something feels wrong, get somewhere safe. Period. There are still plenty of good people in this world who will do what they can to help a stranger in need.
