San Antonio is getting not just one, but two popular Dallas restaurants next year.

Alongside Hudson House, Dallas-based Vandelay Cos. is planning to open its other signature concept in the former Nix sleep health clinic in Alamo Heights. Jack & Harry’s, an elevated New Orleans-inspired restaurant, is set to open at 5307 Broadway next summer.

The debuts are part of Vandelay’s expansion into San Antonio. The hospitality group owns 12 restaurant concepts including Drake’s Hollywood, an old Hollywood-inspired steakhouse; D.L. Mack’s, a Chicago-inspired tavern; and El Molino, a Mexico City-inspired spot.

“San Antonio has been on our radar for a long time, and Alamo Heights felt like the right place for us,” said Hunter Pond, founder and CEO of Vandelay Cos. “Broadway has a strong sense of history and a real neighborhood identity, which is something we value. Bringing Hudson House and Jack & Harry’s here together gives us the opportunity to introduce two distinct experiences while becoming part of a community we’ve admired for years.”

Jack & Harry’s will take over 5,950 square feet on the ground floor of the property, which local real estate firm Ridgemont Properties is renovating. It will be the restaurant’s first location outside of Dallas after Vandelay introduced the concept in 2024.

The upscale Southern steakhouse blends French recipes with Cajun flavors, featuring a menu of dry-aged steaks and Gulf seafood. The bar program boasts Bourbon Street-inspired drinks such as a Cajun Old Fashioned and a French-forward wine list.

Hudson House, which is expected to open next spring, will take over the other 6,360-square-foot on the ground floor. The East Coast-inspired neighborhood restaurant started in the Highland Park area of Dallas nearly 10 years ago and has since expanded to 11 locations in Dallas, Houston, Addison, Fort Worth, Irving, Frisco and Southlake. Its seafood-heavy menu features sushi rolls, East Coast oysters, a shrimp cocktail, a lobster roll, a classic cheeseburger, salads and chicken parmesan.

To wash it all down, the bar program boasts its signature “World’s Coldest Martini” with Grey Goose vodka served on tap and chilled to 10 degrees.

Ridgemont Properties is transforming the former sleep clinic, which it purchased in 2020, into a two-story, 35,000-square-foot property with two restaurants on the ground floor and office space up top. In December, Alamo Heights City Council approved a $2 million tax break package for the project. The deal includes a 100% tax rebate for 10 years, requiring a minimum investment of $9 million and the restaurants to be operational by 2027.

“This development has truly been a team effort,” said Trebes Sasser, Jr., vice president of Ridgemont Properties. “We’re grateful to the City of Alamo Heights for supporting transformative development along the Broadway Corridor, to SHOP Companies for bringing best-in-class food and beverage operators to the project, and to Vandelay Companies for believing in our vision for this property and the community. Hudson House is one of the state’s most recognized food and beverage brands, while Jack & Harry’s fills a real need for elevated dining in Alamo Heights. We’re proud to have both anchoring the development.”
