Po-boy from Olde Tyme Grocery
Whenever I’m in the mood for a good po-boy, there are a few places I always enjoy, but Olde Tyme Grocery has one that easily makes my top three — the Olde Tyme Special po-boy.
Available in either a half or whole size, this po-boy comes with ham, turkey, roast beef and Swiss cheese, dressed in mayo, mustard and brown gravy, topped with lettuce and tomato. The brown gravy adds an extra layer of flavor that really sets this po-boy apart for me. It’s the kind of sandwich that’s a little messy, so it’s perfect for anyone who doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty.

Cheeseburgers from Riverside Patty

Cheeseburger from Riverside Patty
National Cheeseburger Day passed a couple of weeks ago, and some co-workers recommended Riverside Patty. I had never heard of it, quickly learning that it’s a quick drive from the office. Count me in.
I got my cheeseburger fully dressed for around $7 after taxes. It came sliced in half with a couple of toothpicks speared on top. This burger was great and left me satiated. The affordable price didn’t downplay quality or taste. Inside, the old-school diner vibe was the perfect backdrop for lunch with a friend. I’ll be back.

El Paso Chicken Enchiladas

Chicken enchiladas from El Paso Mexican Grill
I had been craving El Paso’s black bean dip, so I made plans with a friend to grab lunch there. Walking into El Paso feels like a warm hug because I’ve been walking into that building since it was an Applebee’s in high school. Not to mention, conversation over chips and salsa is one of my favorite things.
I ordered lunch chicken enchiladas, and not only was the food brought out quickly, but it was also delicious. The tasty red sauce and shredded chicken were comforting. El Paso also always does rice and beans the way I like them, and so the entire lunch was a home run.
