SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – Four-year-old Advay Jain of South Brunswickm has set a Guinness World Record as the youngest male to publish a book.
Jain was 3 and 345 days old when ‘Dino Learns Not To Waste Food’ was published earlier this year through Panda Publishing Agency. India’s Consul General in New York, Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, later felicitated him at his office.
The book grew out of Advay’s experience after moving to a new preschool, where he was not allowed to bring food from home. Its central character, Dino, learns about the importance of not wasting food.
Advay’s father, Neeraj Kumar, said more than 1,300 copies of the book have been sold worldwide and that sales are continuing to grow.
Kumar and his wife, Sonal Bansal, began working on the book in July 2025, with the process taking 10 months, according to an earlier interview cited by reports from South Brunswick.
Advay’s storytelling began with drawings. He would put his ideas on walls, and his parents helped him develop those drawings and short stories into a book.
Advay’s 12-year-old sister, Avya, is also a published author and painter. She wrote ‘The Call of the Nether.’
The Indian Consulate in New York congratulated Advay and Avya and said Advay’s book encourages young readers to value food and avoid food waste.
Advay is now working on a sequel in which Dino will learn other lessons.
