Oskar Blues Grill & Brew in downtown Denver shuttered at the end of last week.
The restaurant and venue, which is owned by a different group than Oskar Blues’ brewing business, served its last beers and pub fare at 1624 Market St. on Oct. 1, according to a sign posted to its door.
The spot opened off the 16th Street Mall in December 2017. According to Denverite, Oskar Blues signed a 10-year lease at that time for the 10,000 square feet. The restaurant was on the first floor, and 5,500 square feet on the bottom floor was taken by the music and comedy stage, called The Black Buzzard.
Oskar Blues did not immediately return a request for comment from BusinessDen.
“We’re sad to say our Denver location is closed… Thanks for all the good times, Denver!” the sign on its door reads.
Oskar Blues Fooderies, the company that owns and operates the restaurants, still has locations in Longmont and Lyons.
Oskar Blues’ brewing branch is owned by Monster Brewing Co., which is the brewing arm of energy drink maker Monster Beverage Corp. that acquired the business in 2022 for $330 million. By sales volume, Monster and Oskar Blues is the biggest craft brewer in Colorado and top 10 in the country when adding Monster’s other brands.
The Denver location is not the only Oskar Blues outpost to close recently. The business’s Colorado Springs store shut its doors at the end of 2025. It has since been replaced with a Stoney’s Bar & Grill, which opened last month.
