It feels like the restaurant scene in Rochester has been on a rollercoaster lately, with plenty of comings and goings all over town.
We’ve recently said goodbye to spots like Mill Valley Kitchen, Thesis Beer Project, and Mochinut. On the flip side, a brand-new Taco Bell with a futuristic deign opened up and construction is continuing on the second First Meeting Noodle and the new 7 Brew Coffee.

Now, we’re learning about another Med City restaurant that has quietly called it quits.

Stir Fry Express, which took over the old Pancheros spot off East Frontage Road in northwest Rochester, is no longer in business.
It wasn’t all that long ago that they opened their doors with a big splash. The restaurant celebrated its grand opening back in February with a celebration that included a free lunch for anyone that stopped by, but the family-owned, pay-by-weight stir-fry buffet’s run has officially come to an end.
A sign posted on the front door says, “Unfortunately we are permanently closed.”
