JAMESTOWN — Jamestown area residents now have another option for food after QDOBA Mexican Eats officially opened its doors at the former Dairy Queen location.
“We’re really super excited,” said Tricia Seckerson, co-owner of QDOBA Mexican Eats in Jamestown with her husband, Kelly.
QDOBA’s location was chosen because the Seckersons thought it would be the best fit for the business and Jamestown, Seckerson said.
“We know this location, we know the car count, and we just felt this was the most appropriate spot for the city to have it,” she said.
Isaiah Zendejas, certified growth trainer for QDOBA, said Jamestown is a tight-knit community. He said people in the community were asking about how everything was going at QDOBA before it opened its doors.
“So I definitely feel like they appreciate the new vibe of what this brand is trying to bring to this town,” he said.
Zendejas noted that the Seckersons have been successful with other businesses in Jamestown.
“They’ve really been in depth on what is QDOBA’s standard, what is QDOBA’s branch trying to represent in a town like this and really nail it for this one,” he said. “As they grow, hopefully, they can spread what this brand is trying to bring, which is just making sure that everybody feels included when they walk in, making sure that every guest that walks in through those doors has a clean environment and they feel like part of the family when they come in.”

The Seckersons are lifetime QDOBA fans and felt the franchise was the right fit for Jamestown.
“We like the freshness and all the options, how easy it is to get in and out to order, just the concept altogether is very friendly and inviting,” Seckerson said.
QDOBA offers freshly-made Mexican food, including burritos, bowls, tacos, salads, chips and queso, desserts and more.
“It’s very much an all-inclusive menu that helps the guests experiment with what they want to try,” Zendejas said.
The Jamestown location does not offer breakfast or serve alcoholic beverages.
“Those are both options at QDOBA, and we chose not to,” she said, adding there are other requirements for employees to serve alcohol.
All the food at QDOBA is made in house, Seckerson said. She said the employees in Jamestown make the guacamole, grill the meats, cut the vegetables and fry the chips and taco shells daily, among other preparations.
“We prep everything,” she said. “That’s why we come in at 7:30 in the morning. We don’t open until 10:30 (a.m.) because we’re prepping everything every day.”
When customers place an order, they can pick an entree — bowls, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, salads or tacos — and either steak, chicken, ground beef, pork or brisket or go vegetarian with no protein. Customers can add other items such as rice, beans, queso, guacamole and other toppings, salsas and sauces.
Seckerson said QDOBA offers queso and guacamole for free.
“It’s automatically built into your item,” she said.
Customers can eat inside where up to 96 people can be seated or take their food to go. The Jamestown location also has 18 seats for outdoor eating.
Customers can also order ahead of time and pick up their food in the mobile pickup lane.
“That lane is only if you order ahead of time. You cannot order at the speaker,” Seckerson said. “You have to order online or through (the QDOBA app) your phone ahead of time. You come to the speaker, say your name, and you pull up and get your food, and you’re on your way.”
QDOBA also offers catering with different options, including hot bars with proteins, boxed meals, party packs and more.
“We deliver, so if your order is a higher-value catering order, we do come to your place of business and set it up, make sure you’re good to go to have the best experience you possibly can,” Seckerson said, adding that there are delivery fees.
She said QDOBA will also deliver to Carrington, Ellendale, Spiritwood and Valley City and other locations within 60 miles.
“We will come out to these bigger corporations that maybe don’t have opportunities and set up nice hot bars that will stay hot under fire for two hours to serve their employees,” she said.
QDOBA is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
