MEMPHIS, Tenn. – It’s time to stock up ahead of this weekend’s potential winter storm.

But local grocery stores told FOX13 that there’s no need to panic buy since they have plans in place to keep the shelves stocked. Kroger — a major grocery store chain in and around the Mid-South — said in a statement that it’s doing its part to make sure everyone has enough to make it through the storms.

In the statement, Kroger said that employees “are working to stock store shelves as fast as they are cleared.” The company said its supermarkets will be open for normal hours during the storms but may close early on “a case-by-case basis.”

Kroger’s full statement — which was provided by a company spokesman — is below:

“Kroger is watching the approaching winter storm.

We are working to stock store shelves as fast as they are cleared. We will have trucks positioned in front of and behind the storm.

Once the storm hits, our goal to have all stores open normal hours. Due to the winter weather, and for the safety of our associates, stores may close early on a case-by-case basis. Please check the Kroger app for updates.”
