A Louisiana attorney who previously was suspended has been disbarred and banned from Walmart after stealing $385 in food and beverages while working at the store.

The Louisiana Supreme Court ruled unanimously Sept. 16 to disbar Samuel Robert Aucoin. He was found guilty of stealing from a Walmart in Lafayette, Louisiana, while employed there. He also has a long history of discipline as an attorney, the Acadiana Advocate reports.

The Louisiana Office of Disciplinary Counsel of the Louisiana Supreme Court’s Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board alleged that Aucoin violated the rules of professional conduct and committed a criminal act reflecting adversely on the lawyer’s honesty, trustworthiness or fitness.

A hearing committee agreed, noting that Aucoin had a prior disciplinary record, a pattern of misconduct, a dishonest or selfish motive and illegal conduct, according to the Acadiana Advocate. He also exhibited no remorse for his criminal conduct, court records show.
