168 Asian Burrito, located inside the Exxon gas station at 18000 Georgia Avenue in Olney, has been ranked the fourth-best gas station restaurant in the United States, according to a new study by car rental company SIXT.
The study ranked 20 gas station restaurants nationwide using TikTok views and Google review ratings. TikTok engagement accounted for 70% of each restaurant’s score, while Google reviews made up the remaining 30%. 168 Asian Burrito earned the No. 4 ranking with approximately 29,900 TikTok views and a 4.9-star Google rating. The restaurant was the highest-ranked Maryland establishment on the list.
The Olney restaurant, owned by chef Peter Chen, specializes in Taiwanese-inspired cuisine, sushi burritos, poke bowls and other Asian dishes. Its menu includes basil chicken burritos, beef bulgogi bowls, shrimp tempura burritos, Taiwanese chicken nuggets, Korean chicken wings and steamed buns. Chen opened the restaurant in 2019 after previously working at several Montgomery County restaurants, including operating a business at Westfield Montgomery Mall. The restaurant has become a familiar stop for customers looking for freshly prepared meals inside an otherwise traditional gas station setting.
The top three restaurants in SIXT’s rankings were Bristol General Store in Ennis, Texas; Billeaud’s Meat & Grocery in Broussard, Louisiana; and Joe’s Kansas City BBQ in Kansas City, Kansas.
