TITANS TUMULT: Coach Robert Saleh confirmed that former Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Jordan Elliott retrieved a gun from his car after an altercation with offensive tackle JC Latham during last Friday’s practice. The Titans released Elliott, a seventh-year veteran who signed a free-agent deal with Tennessee before this season, on Monday. “This is a man who is a father, a great husband; he’s never committed a crime in his entire life, and he pulled a gun in the parking lot,” Saleh said. “… Why did he go off the rails and grab a gun? To me, those are small signs of a cry of help, in terms of obviously there’s something greater happening.” Saleh noted that the team worked with the league to get the 28-year-old Elliott help at that moment and resisted the urge to take immediate disciplinary action. He added, however, that “rules are rules,” and Elliott’s actions violated league policy, which prompted his release. — David Boclair

MORE MICHELIN STARS: At a ceremony at The Pinnacle, the Michelin Guide unveiled its new ratings for the South and added three more Nashville restaurants to its honors. 5th & Taylor, Junior and Present Tense were all awarded a single Michelin star, joining last year’s honorees Bastion, Locust and The Catbird Seat, which retained their stars.  Additionally, Maiz de la Vida was named to Michelin’s Bib Gourmand list, which recognizes great food at a reasonable price. It’s the second time Michelin has honored restaurants across the South with stars, widely considered among the most prestigious awards a restaurant can receive. — Steve Cavendish

PARK CONSTRUCTION: Metro Parks and Recreation announced that several roads on the west side of Centennial Park will be closed temporarily due to ongoing construction in the area. The impacted area includes Parthenon Avenue and small stretches of 27th and 28th Avenues between the Parthenon and 31st Avenue. Access to the area will be limited and motorists should be alert for detours. The work that is the cause of the closures is expected to be completed by Nov. 3. — David Boclair
