A Toronto restaurant known for its modern approach to Mexican cuisine is officially making its international debut.

Silent H, located at 461 King St. W., has announced that it will be expanding to the United States.

The restaurant will open its newest location at 420 West 13th St. in New York on Nov. 24.

Set to lay the “foundation for further growth in the U.S. market,” the restaurant’s American debut also signals “the evolution of a Canadian-founded hospitality concept into an international brand,” according to the team.

Silent H was founded in June 2023 by brothers Patrick and Nader Marzouk, and reimagines traditional Mexican family recipes with refined techniques.

“Bringing Silent H to New York is a defining moment for us,” said Patrick, who is also the restaurant’s CEO.

“We built Silent H in Toronto with a vision to create something that goes beyond dining, a place that celebrates exceptional food, culture and bringing people together. Expanding into Manhattan is an exciting next step, and we’re proud to bring what we’ve created in Canada to an international audience.”

In New York, the restaurant’s culinary direction will be led by chef Gerardo Álvarez Saucedo, with an evolving selection of contemporary Mexican dishes on the menu. Be sure to try the signature Espadas de Rib Eye Asadas, presented table side.

When it comes to the beverage offerings, Silent H’s cocktail program will be helmed by beverage director Spencer Gooderham and is inspired by Mexico’s diverse landscapes, flavours and cultural traditions.

Try Oaxaca’s Order, with coconut-washed Patrón Añejo served above smouldering mesquite coals, or Seeking Cenotes, a layered matcha cocktail accompanied by a Palo Santo aromatherapy ritual.

“As Toronto continues to establish itself as a global destination for dining, entertainment and hospitality, Silent H’s expansion reflects the growing international ambitions of Canadian entrepreneurs and homegrown hospitality concepts,” the Silent H team stated.

“With modern Mexican cuisine, immersive cocktails and warm, energetic hospitality, Silent H aims to create a destination where every dish tells a story, and every visit becomes a lasting memory.”
