Four South Carolina restaurants retained their stars in the 2026 Michelin Guide American South, and several Palmetto State restaurants received Bib Gourmand or Michelin Recommended designations in the new guide.

In Greenville, Scoundrel retained the star it earned last year from the Michelin Guide, while in Charleston, Malagón Mercado Y Taperia, Vern’s, and Wild Common kept their Michelin stars.

In addition, three new restaurants received Bib Gourmand status, which are given to restaurants that serve “high-quality food at a reasonable, approachable price,” according to the Michelin Guide. They are Okán in Bluffton, and Palmira and Rivayat Creative Indian in Charleston. Leon’s Oyster Shop in Charleston retained its Bib Gourmand rating.

Three South Carolina restaurants were added to the list of Michelin Recommended restaurants, recognized for “serving above-average, well-cooked food with quality ingredients, even though it has not earned a star or a Bib Gourmand award,” the Michelin Guide says.

Cane Pazzo in Hanahan, Merci in Charleston, Radici Italian Chophouse in Bluffton, and Lewis Barbecue in Charleston (previously a Bib Gourmand restaurant) were new entries on the Michelin Recommended list.

Several other South Carolina restaurants retained their Michelin Recommended status. They are:

Chubby Fish, Husk, Lowland, The Establishment, The Restaurant at Zero George, Sorrelle, and FIG in Charleston; OAK Prime in Myrtle Beach; Soby’s, Jianna, and The Anchorage in Greenville; The Obstinate Daughter in Sullivans Island; Topsoil in Travelers Rest; and Motor Supply Company and Di Vino Rossi in Columbia.
