OKLAHOMA CITY –

23 restaurants are serving up a $10 special during Midtown’s 10 Buck Lunch Week. Midtown District Manager Apryl Awbrey joins News 9 to discuss what the setup for the event will be and what food options will be available for people try.

Tell us more about this $10 lunch?

Awbrey: We’re really excited to have this promotion back again. It’s always beloved in Midtown. Anyone’s going to be able to come by and get any kind of meal that they’re craving, so it’s a really great opportunity to grab a friend or a coworker and come get a delicious lunch for a really great price in Midtown.

What’s the setup for the event?

Awbrey: It’s just going to be Midtown restaurants across the district. A really great way to get around the district this year, now that the streetcar is free fare, you’ll be able to park and ride to any of the restaurants. We have five convenient stops throughout the district. So if you are interested, you can hop on there and that’s a great way to get around.

What are some food options you’ll have available?

Awbrey: You’ll be able to find anything that you’re interested in, from Mexican cuisine, vegan and vegetarian options, pho if you’re into that. All kinds of different things. We have something for everyone, so whatever you’re craving, it’ll be available.

How did this idea come about?

Awbrey: This promotion began because we really wanted to bring more traffic to our restaurants in the district during the week and during lunchtime. So we just wanted to increase visitors during the day and during the week in Midtown and this has been a great way to do it. People love it, our restaurants love it, and it’s always a great time.

Why is it important to get that exposure for those restaurants?

The restaurants make Midtown vibrant and amazing. We have a lot of really excellent cuisine in Midtown and we always want to support local businesses in Midtown and beyond. So it’s just the best way to get people out there and enjoying.
