Olmsted County Officials Shut Down Gilberto’s in NW Rochester
Giliberto’s made headlines late last month after a sign outlining safety violations was posted on the Mexican restaurant’s front door by health officials.
The notice on the front entrance of the Bandel Road location in Northwest Rochester detailed mandatory shut-down orders from Olmsted County Public Health Services following infractions under Minnesota Food Code 4626.

Minnesota Food Code 4626 covers important commercial kitchen safety standards, including proper food storage temperatures, safe ingredient prep, and overall sanitation.

UPDATE: Giliberto’s Is Done. Restaurant Will NOT Reopen Its Rochester Location
Giliberto’s is a small chain with locations in Owatonna, St. Cloud, Wilmar, and Mankato. Those locations remain open, according to the restaurant’s website, but their site in Rochester will not reopen.

The property at 5550 N. Hwy 52 is on the market and listed as a “turnkey restaurant with drive-thru available for sublease.”
Realty Growth posted the listing online and says the 3,671-square-foot building is ready for immediate food service operations. The property features a commercial prep kitchen, and dedicated drive-thru window.
