SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Edited News Release/KY3)- Over 900 pounds of ready-to-eat beef jerky products are being recalled because they were produced without the benefit of federal inspection.

The beef jerky products were packaged from January 2026 to October 2026 and include:

2 oz. sealed bag of “IMPERIO FUEGO BEEF JERKY (CARNE SECA).”2 oz. sealed bag of “IMPERIO ORIGINAL BEEF JERKY (CARNE SECA).”2 oz. sealed bag of “IMPERIO LIMÓN BEEF JERKY (CARNE SECA).”(From left: Imperio Fuego Beef Jerky, Imperio Original Beef Jerky, Imperio Limon Beef Jerky)(From left: Imperio Fuego Beef Jerky, Imperio Original Beef Jerky, Imperio Limon Beef Jerky)(KY3)

The products may be misbranded because of the unauthorized use of a USDA mark of inspection, according to the recall.

The beef jerky was distributed to various retail locations in seven states, including Missouri. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said the problem was discovered during FSIS surveillance activities.

The recall states that food produced without inspection may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants that put consumer health and safety at risk.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

There have been no confirmed reports of illness or injury due to consumption of these products.
